This award recognizes the important role of media practitioners specifically reporters from broadcast (TV and radio) and print/online news service from both the government and private media organizations, who have made significant contributions in promoting, popularizing, and using statistics in information dissemination and other relevant purposes.

Professional Award (Individual) – to be given to an individual media reporter for valuing the extensive use of, as well as for the professional handling of statistics in his/her work

Ms. Gonzales was awarded for her article “RP races to meet Millennium Development Goals by 2015” published in the July 25, 2010 issue of the Philippine Star. She received a Plaque of Recognition and a cash prize of Php 20,000.

Mr. Roel L. Landingin
of Newsbreak Magazine
for winning the
1st NSM Media Awards.

Mr. Landingin was awarded for his article "The Hidden Job Crisis" published in the May-July 2009 issue of the Newsbreak Magazine. He received a Plaque of Recognition and a cash prize of P20,000.
