NSCB Renews Clearance of the Producer’s Price Survey ************************* The Philippine Statistical System Reviews Unemployment Concept The Philippine Statistical System (PSS) is currently reviewing the existing definition of unemployment to consider possible improvements in accordance with international standards. This activity is being spearheaded by the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), the Bureau of Labor and Employment Statistics (BLES) and the National Statistics Office (NSO) through the Interagency Committee on Labor, Income and Productivity Statistics (IACLIPS) and its Technical Working Group on Labor and Employment Statistics (TWGLES). http://www.nscb.gov.ph/pressreleases/2004/25Feb_empConcept.asp ************************* Quarterly Index on Total Gross Revenue Grew by 3.5 percent in Q3 2003 The quarterly index on total gross revenue at current prices inched up by 3.5 percent in the third quarter of 2003 to 3,519.0 from 3,400.1 in the same quarter last year. On the other hand, current price indices on employment registered a decline of 3.4 percent while compensation posted an increase of 8.0 percent during the quarter in review. These were based on the February 2004 issue of the Quarterly Economic Indices (QEI) of the Philippines. http://www.nscb.gov.ph/pressreleases/2004/18Feb04_200402-ES_qeiQ303.asp ************************* NSCB Renews Clearance of the Producer’s Price Survey The clearance of the Producer’s Price Survey (PPS) has been renewed by the NSCB in line with its Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS). The PPS is a monthly undertaking of the National Statistics Office (NSO), with manufacturing establishments as the respondents.
