NSCB Products and Services that are Free

As part of the public good obligation of NSCB, the following products and services are provided for free:

The NSCB products available at the NSCB website for free

The NSCB website (www.nscb.gov.ph) showcases significant products and services of the NSCB and the Philippine Statistical System (PSS). The site is also basically designed to provide users latest information and updates on the coordinated efforts of the members of the PSS. Basically, all materials posted in the website are free:

  1. StatWatch -- presents data on key social and economic indicators. To date, there are 28 indicators in this page
  2. StatTables – presents a time-series social and economic data in tabular format
  3. StatMeter -- presents the historical trends of key economic and social indicators through charts and graphs
  4. FactSheets -- showcases relevant data/indicators through brief analyses and graphical representations which are not commonly known or readily available to users
  5. Philippine Statistical System (PSS) -- contains the structure, linkages, sources of data, and others
  6. Data Release Calendar -- presents the dates of release of data produced by the agencies of the PSS
  7. Technical Notes -- designed to aid users in understanding the concepts and methodologies behind the construction of some social and economic indicators contained in the site
  8. Glossary of Terms -- presents standard definition of terms and concepts used in the PSS; sourced from various data-producing agencies
  9. Announcements – informs the users on releases of publications, new articles on concepts and methodologies, and other statistical development activities in the country
  10. Events - informs the users on various seminars, conferences, users’/producers’ fora, training programs and other statistical events that the NSCB conducts
  11. Press Releases – presents the latest press releases on various statistical matters from time to time
  12. ActiveStats -- showcases the interactive modules contained in the NSCB website. This includes the statistical databases (free tour of the I-stats, Countryside in Figures) and codes and classifications (Philippine Standard Geographic Codes or PSGC, area codes, zip codes), Gender Statistics, SDDS, SSRCS, and PCPC
  13. Annual Reports and Technical Papers – these are free to download but requires registration
  14. Information about NSCB
  15. All other materials in the NSCB Regional Division websites, except for the regional i-stats which form as a child module of the NSCB Central Office i-stats

Subject to availability of copies, the following NSCB products shall be free for walk-in clients (20 copies initial release with a limit of 1 ream per month):

  1. Press Release
  2. Statwatch

Note: During exhibits, 100 copies each of the above shall be available for free.

Though NSCB publications (including Factsheets, Statistics Series, etc) are sold for a specific amount, complimentary copies in printed form or CDROM version are provided to the following selected recipients.

  1. NSCB Board Members
  2. Government/LGUs/provincial libraries/SUC Libraries in all regions
  3. Selected Government agencies (depending on type of publication)
  4. Selected Individuals (e.g., NSCB Chairs, Statistical Advisory Committee members, etc.)
  5. Selected members of the Congress
  6. International Organizations (UN and its attached agencies, ADB, ASEAN, et. al.)

Note: Complimentary copies may be provided to other agencies upon request subject to availability of copies.

All other publications available at the NSIC library can be accessed and used for free within the library premises.

Replies to basic inquiries or requests for data received by the NSCB through phone calls, letters, and emails are free as follows:

  1. Through phone calls: maximum of 3 data items that are easily available at the NSIC and would not entail further data processing
  2. Through letters/e-mails: tables which can be obtained from NSCB publications, i.e., NAP, PSY EI., etc. This will be limited to only one page-table (excluding link series)
  3. Basic metadata as replied to by sector specialists. Additional inquiries would be considered as technical service.

Should the researcher wish to have more data that need no processing, he/she is advised to visit the website, NSIC CO, or NSIC RDs. If the data inquired for is not available at the NSIC, the public is referred to the appropriate government agency/ies, which may provide detailed answers or replies.

 E-Newsletter - free subscription mailinglist; to receive the latest updates on data releases and statistical news, subscribe to our E-Newsletter

 Access to NSCB RSS Feeds and Mobile Edition of Website - free syndication and access to NSCB RSS Feeds for personal and non-commercial purposes. Mobile Edition of Website available for users of mobile devices with direct connection to Internet or through third-party content provider.

Free computer use and Internet access at the NSIC Library for a maximum of one hour per client.
